2.1.6. DCM MainDevice Ref Clock mode

The DCM MainDevice Ref Clock mode is similar to the bus shift mode, without its control loop. This reduces the CPU load and makes it a good alternative for low performance CPUs. Because of the missing control loop, the reaction time on disturbance is longer and the cycle must be very accurate.

The bus shift time must be enabled in the ENI file because it uses the same cyclic command to synchronize the EtherCAT® network with the MainDevice system. This mode can be activated using emDcmConfigure().
